Born into an aristocratic British family with deep ties to the UK peerage, he grew up next door to the legendary ambient musician and producer Brian Eno. Recognizing the teenage Gibson's raw talent, Eno became his mentor, inviting him to join a local a cappella group and teaching him the philosophies of experimental music creation from a young age.

Before the world knew him as "Fred again..", he was a prodigy behind the scenes in the UK pop and rap markets. In 2020, he became the youngest person ever to win Producer of the Year at the Brit Awards. He has produced, written, or co-written massive hits for artists including Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Charli XCX, Eminem and Burna Boy.
