Song of the Week Week 25 2026 - Women Appreciation Week
dezi, Jhené Aiko, Beyoncé, Ashanti, Mariah, Alicia Keys & more
This weeks songs of the week at DJ Rikstar HQ we decided to dedicate weeks 24 & 25 to women and make it a 2 week special, themed across all the different sections of the website and mobile app.
Women are the earth keepers of Earth, the salt of Earth and the backbone of all families so we decided to appreciate them (not that we dont anyway) and list some of our favourite tracks below from some of the hottest RnB women.
FAST LIFE - dezi
ATM im really feeling this artist as on my website I dont only go for the massive commerical artist I do find smaller artist whos music bangs and this is certainly one.
I was flipping through instagram and came across a reel by Dezi it was for this track above. I listened and was like damn shes very good as normally you can tell quick and just quick get scroll by. I replayed it i'm like damnnn thats fire from her voice to the beats so I went on her insta and right away i see Singer-Songwriter~Producer~Pianist~Artistic Vessel so this made me think this explains why she is so talented as well, I listened to some more of her tracks on her page and im like not only is she a talented singer/musician, she got Aura right down to her swag, which then made me go on youtube and when i listened to her music I'm like oh wow reminds me of a mix of a few superstars mentioned below in this weeks songs of the week.
So I checked out most her youtube as not many songs make me do all this off 1 reel i see on insta and not only she plays the piano I noticed her beats were spot on too and when I checked to see who produced them she did I'm like ok she cookin cookin and when we talking musically she doing what the likes of ed sheeran is doing but even more as he plays guitar, so writes down melodies and sings but Dezi is not only singing, composing her own melodies and chords with her piano skills, she producing the whole beat to each one of her many songs (impressive) and then singing with talent on them. All I have to say is I see talent when i see it and hope in todays upside down marketing that some exec see this and not the other kind of singers out there in todays time.
Never Call Me (Slauson Hills Edition) - Jhené Aiko feat. Kurupt
You should of called me, why you didnt call me, da da da da da daaaa... Next up is Jhené Aiko such a vibe apart from me always enjoying listening to women led soul and also moody type RnB I would say Jhené Aiko is one of the best and has her own style so when you slip on the headphones or crank the volume up you can relax with her style of RnB and get in such a chilled state.
Me, Myself and I - Beyoncé
You know if your talking about women and RnB theres no way you can leave the Queen B out, here is Beyonce and her track me, myself and I which slaps even in 2026, heck even in 2060 as this that timeless music.
Me & U (Official Music Video) - Cassie
Next is Cassie we cant pretend she didnt lock down the whole year with this hit and provided so more hits such a great talent.
My Lover - Not3s, Mabel
One of my favourite female artist from the UK is Mabel she rocked the industry and had many chart hits and multiple tracks at the same time on rotation on the radio, such a talented musician like her mother and father too.
Mabel to me is UK version of Ashanti, who agrees?
Foolish - Ashanti
Here we are Ashanti she had the whole game on lock and so talented, all these tracks on her will have your head nodding but this track maybe a touch harder as such a peak track. It was hard to even pick a track from Ashanti so many hits.
We Belong Together - Mariah Carey
None other than Mariah Carey she needs no introduction even your grandma knows who this is such a talented artist and has too many timeless hits in her catalog.
Un-thinkable - Alicia Keys
None other then the multi talented singer/songwriter/producer Alicia Keys not only does she have one of the best voices in the industry but mad skills on the keys 🎹. Her voice just glides over any track, always enjoying listening to Alicia Keys.
Jump - Tyla, Gunna, Skillibeng
I covered Tyla in the amapiano week a few weeks back but she is Africa finest, one of the biggest artist to come out of Africa but not only this she is taking the world by storm and is still early days. Tyla is super talented and also has that energy and is a joy to listen to and watch her cool produced music videos and colabs.
Ex-Factor - Lauryn Hill
Haa you think i was going to do a woman themed week and especially on song of the week leave out Lauryn Hill aint no way... She is a true pioneer of neo soul and even helped move the rap scene for females back in 1990s. She is considered one of the most influential musicians of her generation so bow down when you see greatness. This track still goes off today and in 30 years.
One In A Million - Aaliyah
Damnn homie... I have this on right now volume up and like singing this with my air mic in my hand 😝 Im like no F this give me the karaoke machine then im like on second thoughts maybe not, lets carry on here...
Aaliyah is HER, I can only imagine if she was still here the whole landscape could be different in the RnB world, I wish we got to see just how far she could of gone in the music world as a artist she had it all. Aura off the charts.
Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido - KAROL G
The moment you mention the second most spoken language in the world Spanish you realise there is only 1 female who has achieved what us mere humans havent from filling out stadiums around the world to closing down whole cities on 5th December to having main tv stations in the whole of Latin America run a 2 hour special of her new album release, I'm talking main channel 3 type channels.
When you speak about talent Karol G is up their in the mount rushmore of talented singers and deserves everything she has achieved and got. You can travel all around the world even to Japan and all will know Karol G even if they dont even speak Spanish they be still bumping her music but then if you ever have the chance to go Latin America I can fully assure you that you will hear her music in local tienda on the corner of the street, to kids parties, clubs and even your favourite abuelitos fiesta. When it comes to latin music she is latin music.
I bet you in southern California a guy pulls up to his home boy he like "Yo ese what your playing big dawg", He says "Nothing, that new G Perico track holmes", other man says "Yo dawg, turn that shit up", now his boy backed in the corner he has to turn it up and as he does Karol Gs S91 is blasting out his stereo, Homie like "Hermano, Que pasa" and they both start dancing.... LOL yes Karol G has this type of pull no bromeo holmes.
It's Not Right But It's Okay (Official HD Video) - Whitney Houston
Cant leave Whitney Houston out of this like Lauryn Hill she is a true pioneer and a beam for all women of RnB and wish she was still here but she left us with timeless classics that will never age.
If You Had My Love (Official Video) - Jennifer Lopez
J Lo from the block what a superstar, no way i can leave her out of this. I remember this track taking over the globe as well as all her other hits they will only ever be one Jennifer Lopez another latina superstar.
No Scrubs - TLC
I love my neo-soul and RnB and no way can i end this list without adding TLC to this they have countless hits but this one no scrubs is one of their biggest. TLC had the game on lock in the 90s im sure every woman wanted to look like them so the swag the aura they prob led a good 5 years of most women trying to be them as they really had that type of pull I even seen this as a kid. I was prob in a baby bouncer nodding my head to this, no joke... TLC are THEM...
Im listening to this now and not only nodding my head this shiz got me nodding and swaying hardcore such a banger, "Steppin on yo Filas, but you dont really hear me tho".
ALWAYS TREAT WOMEN WITH RESPECT, IF NOT THAN YOU A BUSTER TO THE DAY YOU DIE.
