Mix of the Week Week 23 2026 - A Proper UK DJ Special

Various UK DJs

This week is a UK special, featuring my top 4 DJs coming out of the UK. I have listened to many of their mixes, seen some of them live, and they all have great technical skills, production skills, and more. If you ever get the chance to see any of them, make sure you do.

Aura In Motion - Wilfy D

I must admit, this is one of my favourite UK DJs. He's proper talented, but what really stands out is the selection. A lot of the music you're hearing is produced by him, or it's one of his edits and remixes.

Every time I'm on YouTube and see Wilfy D I know the set is about to hit and it's so smooth (warm margarine vs cold butter), so for me he is one of the most talented DJs and producers from a select few I've heard from the UK and in my top 4 from this list.

You can also tell this Bristol DJ knows music, as not only does he produce, the more I see of his mixes the more different genres I see him seamlessly gliding through like a hot knife through butter.

Notice his afro-house, funky and R&B mix, which is 3 genres as it is.

Then he's doing funky afro house at a Ministry of Sound event.

Then I see him in BBC 1xtra doing a Get Lit Mix, so as I said above when it comes to music, DJing, producing, and remixes, he is the most talented I've personally come across.

Here's even a remix released by Jorja Smith he did. UPDATE I came back to update this to say I listened to this track 5 times in a row apart from Jorja Smith on it this afro house type beat slaps even if you just listen to the drums and percussions both Wilfy D and Jordss did a number on this. If they ever released a 7 tremixes i'd legit buy it as a full album thats how much I FW the stuff I hear with Wilfy D name in. In fact imma start resarching im sure he has a massive catalog of remixes and releases. If your a DJ, producer, musician go and listen to his stuff and jordss its some of the best quality production Ive heard like they been producing 20 years or something everything so smooth with it.

NEW UPDATE: Ok did some digging as knew I wasnt going crazy and can see Beatport has featured him as a up and coming artist in 2024 ([Beatport Article](https://www.beatportal.com/articles/667710-eight-emerging-artists-on-our-radar-october-2024)) especially with his track IDKW on Beatport which you could playback a few times. I cant wait to see the progression moving towards 2030 from him and Im checking through his beatport now this is gold for a producers ear. NGL some of the best music production I've heard over a few years.

Ok it seems I glazed on this pick, but as someone closer to music I'm just appreciating a musician. I wouldn't be surprised if he played instruments, or multiple ones, before DJing, as his knowledge in edits, remixes, DJing, and song selection is just something I've not really seen before. So don't read above and scream GLAZING, I'm just letting you know when I spot a real musician.

Or it could be the way he has made a signature sound of blending RnB with some 2000s type garage sounds.

Forget "Wheres Wally" its "Where isnt Wilfy D" he's EVERYWHERE. I promise he is even in the photo below somewhere.

James Hype live at AMF 2023 - James Hype

James Hype is a worldwide superstar, but he's still one of the UK names I rate most highly. His technical skills are outrageous and his track "More Than Friends" even cracked the UK top 10.

He's one of those DJs who can make four decks look effortless, and the way he moves through a set is ridiculous. It honestly feels like he's not from this planet when he steps behind the decks.

R&B . EDITS & BLENDS . CHILL OUT VIBES - On Chill LIVE DJ MIX - DJ Stylus

DJ Stylus, or Stxylo, has been rocking parties and clubs since he was a teenager. Growing up in Manchester, I caught him on BBC 1Xtra every Friday for a few years and that slot was always a proper listen.

When it comes to hip-hop and R&B in the UK, he is definitely one of the guys. His technical skills are on the money, his song selection is elite, and he has played big festivals across the country and opened for legends like Lauryn Hill, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z.

You can see a vlog from his BBC 1Xtra days here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZTMzppDpgU

Then check out some of the latest sets at the nights he runs in Manchester at Kompnd.

JOE LOBEL - Live DJ Set - Joe Lobel

Next is Joe Lobel, another technical wizard. I haven't heard many DJs scratch better, and the way he mixes makes him feel like the hip-hop and R&B answer to James Hype.

He tours all over the world and shares a lot of his life as a DJ on YouTube, covering different countries and showing what it is like being one of the leading hip-hop and R&B DJs in the current landscape.

I would say there aren't many like Joe. He has his own style, and a lot of people in the hip-hop and urban lane will not easily replicate it.
