Mix of the Week Week 21 2026 - 6 Mixes of the Week — Colombia Special

Zandu, Exotic Music, Fumaratto, DJ Dasten, Tusso & Zandu

Ok, I have been in Colombia a while and have dedicated this week's mix of the week to my favourite Colombian DJs, who you won't step foot in Colombia or LATAM without hearing a song produced by some of these DJs or a remix.

For my listeners in other parts of the world such as the African continent, these DJs are equivalent to your Major League DJz, Kelvin Momo, Uncle Waffles but around South America. They heavy tour, so if they are ever in your town, no matter what country you're from, go see them and witness some of Colombia's (South America's) finest DJs/Musicians/Artists perform.

ZANDU X KEVIN MONTES - Zandu DJ

A true heavyweight DJ in Colombia. What amazes me with this DJ set is not only the music but the location — it's on El Peñón de Guatapé in Guatapé, which is one of the oldest granite stones in the world, over 65 to 70 million years old (that's nearly as old as your grandmother, go ask her).

This stone is a must-see in Colombia, it's 200 meters high and is made of quartz, feldspar, and mica. Also, just to put things into context, this stone is 15,000 times older than the Pyramids of Giza, which are ~4,500 years old. This rock is older than the dinosaur extinction, which happened 66 million years ago — anyway, that's enough about rocks today 😊

Exotic Music 👑 - Private Party | Copacabana Medellín (En Vivo) - Exotic Music

A legend in the scene, his music is everywhere. His contributions are crazy for the "guaracha" and electronic dance music (EDM) genres — a true pioneer.

Not only a DJ but a true artist and producer, with some hit tracks put out, especially "Calling" — this is a track every Colombian has heard and I still hear it being played monthly if not weekly here. A true testament to this artist's power in the music scene.

Fumaratto - Tengo Miedo Al Mar, Pero Navego 🌊 (Wala House Set) - Fumaratto

You want to know the truth? Pssst, come closer... You can't talk Colombian DJ without Fumaratto being mentioned. He's not only a DJ but a producer, has some hot tracks the same as Exotic which are played monthly if not weekly here, and has carved out such a cool persona — the bunny. As soon as many see the bunny mask, you instantly know what time it is.

Go listen to Fumaratto "Me Provocas" — a classic that will be around FOREVER, timeless type music.

Dj Dasten - EsQueLeFascina Vol. 4 (Medellin Live Set) - DJ Dasten

I'm not sure why, but when it comes to DJs and musicians in general, Colombia has some of the best this side of the pond — but especially when it comes to Medellín. Not only does Medallo produce some of the hottest DJs across the whole of the Americas, it also produces some of the world's best Reggaeton artists such as Karol G, J Balvin, Ryan Castro, Blessd — the list goes on and on. It's the hottest city for musical artists, must be something in the water.

This DJ set is done in DJ Dasten's home town and the video is produced well — a real taste of the Colombian party culture. Also go listen to DJ Dasten's song "Prende La Fiesta", that is another heavy hitter around LATAM if not the world, holmes.

Acid B2B Tusso - Good Taste Anniversary 2025 - Tusso

Another legendary DJ — Tusso is one of the best and won "Best DJ of the Year" six times in Colombia, winning in 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

He's the founder of Cosa Nostra Music and you can catch him in NYC a lot. While Tusso might not have the "superstar" status of mainstream pop artists, his impact is massive in the regional and national house and tech-house community.

Afro Sunset (Cartagena 2026 0.1) - ZANDU Dj - Zandu DJ

Ok, ok, I know I mentioned DJ Zandu before, but this specific DJ set is on point — from the vibe of Afro sunset to the visuals in one of the best beach towns in Colombia, Cartagena. Him and the production crew really nailed this DJ set 🌴
